    Who is running the pentagon? Are they forgetting we are at war there?

    isnt NATO in charge of afghanistan nowdays? I though america handed over controll to NATO a few months ago?

    Yes they are, although Im not sure of the actual composition, or numbers. It may be that the Taliban fighters are testing the resolve of the NATO forces.

    It's odd but if you look at Afghanistan and Iraq. In both cases if it were not for the terrorists and insurgents who are killing an average of 60 to 100 civilians per day, there would be thriving, functional democratic societies. There would be no need for foreign troops at all.

    In short the terrorists are shooting themselves in the foot.
