    Don't really understand your question...
Time outside of the gym is when muscles grow and carbs is what you want for muscle growth, although most people limit them when cutting. Carbs, protein, fat are all essential to gaining quality weight/dropping fat etc.
Muscle tissue is made up mostly of water, only about 20% of protein if I remember right.
Hope this helped answer your question.

doesnt protein cause muscle growth..? i understand about carbs and fat being essential but i always thought that protein/BCAA is the basic building block for muscle growth.....let me rephrase my questions

    1. Will the protein i eat before my workout affect the muscle is worked out?
    2. Will the protein i eat tomorrow still affect the muscle growth for the muscle i work out today?

Whether it be protein or carbohydrate once they are digested the liver will only store the unused nutrients (sugars or amino acids) for approximately four hours.
Then you will need to eat another meal. It wasn't a coincident that people ordinarily eat three meals a day, i.e. about every 4 hours, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, however most bodybuilders and weightlifters prefer to eat smaller meals about every two hours. You should eat a high protein meal after your workouts and primarily carbs plus some protein before a work out. Complex carbs are slower metabolizing and will give you longer lasting energy as compared to simple carbs, like sugars.

Yes and Yes, although you might be thinking more protein is better and that's not the case, people tend to overshoot on their protein consumption.

Thats very good advice! Too much protein is hard on the kidneys and more than 1 or 2 grams per lb of body weight is being wasted.

Agreed, if carbs are adequate I don't exceed .8 - 1g/lb Bodyweight.. Low carb days I'll compensate with 1.5-1.8g/lb Bodyweight.
