I feel bad for his wife & kids.
I feel bad for his wife and kids also. And i do respect him for the fact that he turned his love into a career, but learn where to set the limits i guess?

Yes...he was. But the chances of getting killer by a stingray are almost non-existant. There have been people killed playing football (along with MANY other unlikely things).....would consider that "deadly"??

For one, Steve Irwin has done a shit load more then a "soldier" in Iraq. He has started up wildlife organizations, preservation programs, and has donated thousands of dollars (perhaps millions?) to wildlife charities. Now do not flame on me for saying he did more then a soldier, I was just retorting to what that guy said a few posts back. I love our soldiers, and I do not think we should even be over there but still... Back to the point. Steve Irwin was doing what he loved, and he died doing it. He died when he was shooting a series for his daughter Bindi. He wasn't crazy, he knew what he was doing... And he was good at it... Is a construction worker who falls off a building and dies an asshole for doing something potentially dangerous leaving behind his family? No... So you cannot say that unless you wish to add that little part in there too. Steve Irwin was a great man, he did great things, maybe he didn't fight for his country... That doesn't make him any less then someone who has, or make his death more meaningless then someone who has died a war... So stop flaming on him guys, he's more man then any of us could ever wish to be...

"If a man hasn't discovered something that he will die for, he isn't fit to live"

    -Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Well i think Steve Irwin found somehting he would die for, a true passion to him

Just like Jon Pall Simmarson, one of the greatest strongmen off all-time next to Bill Kazmaier in my opinion, died doing what he loved most, and that was deadlifting

totaly agree with this - great post!

life without passion isn't worth living at all............

and how many nature programs did u guys watch b4 steve Irwin came on the scene?

if the guy made 5% of younger people interested in nature, and gave them a sense of respect of the world around us, then the man obviously did his job well!
