Buying xbox 360 instead of PS3?

After doing some research last night I think I am going to buy an xbox 360 instead of waiting for the ps3 and dishing out even more money.
My main concern is games. I dont like online play or multi-player games.
I keep hearing about gears of war and how it is the best game in the world yada yada and its only available for the xbox. I also am a HUGE resident evil fan, its my favorite games. I thought that RESIDENT EVIL was only going to be available on ps3 but I see that XBOX will also offer that game. So my main and only concern is which would be better for single player type games.

So for all you gamers out there, will I be just as happy with an xbox360 as I would be with a ps3?

Also what will I need to buy with the xbox360 will I need to buy a memory card of some kind or any other accessories?

I went to E3 and got to compare the PS3 and 360 and from what I got to play, the playstation looks waaaay better than the 360. I wasnt really expecting it to be that much of a differnce but when you see them you will know what I mean. Sony waited to see what the 360 did to learn from their mistakes and is going to have a better outcome IMO. And as far as the pricetag, its already been proven that people will pay high prices like those special edition 360 games.

Althought the 360 has "3 processors" or 2 or whatever, it doesn't matter, the PS3 processor is better than all of them combined.

Also blue ray is going to be the shit, capable of somewhere around 40gb per disc. The xbox will not support this.

I had an xbox 360 but i had to take it back (5 times). I got so tired of having so many problems with it and going back to the store for a week straight i just ended up getting my money back.

badass, favorite controller so far and they improved the layout bigtime over the xbox...

I got the 360 because of forza 2 that is coming out. Get the 360 imo, but mainly it comes down to what titles are being released for the systems. Both the ps 3 and 360 are badass.

Everything always looks great at E3. Point is the 3rd party developers are not favoring the PS like in the past. The 360 actually has move exclusives than the PS3 will.

I highly doubt PS3 (which also comes with a high game dev costs) will ever get more popular tiles than 360. (Halo for example)

Ok I just read that the xbox360 hard drive is seperate,which is an extra 100bucks. And I would believe you would need the hard drive to save games.....

There is two different systems you can buy. One is called the core system which doesnt have the hard drive so you would have to buy it but the other on does have it and its 100-150 dollars more.

Between Halo,Gears Of War(1 of the best games of all time),and Splinter Cell, the 360 far outweighs PS3...where all u get is stupid games like Teken, even though they have made like a billion different ones...

Plus, the PS3 will cost a good sum more. And graphics to graphics, they r either the same, or PS3 slightly better, but there is only so much better you can get.....but fun wise with games...the 360 kicks PS3 ass.

I've already bought marvel alliance for the ps3 for $70. That's in canadian dollars though. The controllers alone are $60 bucks each.

Just remember a flaw about the controller though. The wireless controllers have batteries that are built into it and basically they're only good for 100hours of play I believe until they're useless unless you use it as a wired controller. It's not like i'll play that much to be concerned anyways but it is a minor inconvenience.
