the way i see it the next gen consoles are really for big screens.
i have a 42" and 50" hd plasma, the old xbox doesnt look that good on them. the better resolution on the 360 looks alot better. however the difference between the 2 on my friends normal 32 is not that great. as screens get bigger you need a higher resolution in order to get a picture worthy of spending large amounts of cash on the screens.
so to answer your question, for me it is worth spending the extra money.
although the uk launch for the ps3 might not be till may.

Yes I've said it before but what IS the hype about the PS3? get a Wii in a few weeks time, it wont cost anywhere near as much as a PS3 and teh machine looks excellent. With that remote controler, the power glove and gun this looks to be the first step into virtual reality gaming.

That game is for PS2, so it dosnt have the graphics of a PS3 game. There is an extreme difference in graphics in a PS2/PS3 if played over a good HD TV. Im not one into gaming so I dont give a crap, but PS3 is alot beter

Yep, I wonder how long it will be before XBox360 and PS3 get powergloves, remote controler and that new gun for their systems? Id get a PS3 for games like Resi Evil and Final Fantasy series but those will appear on the Wii anyways.

I went to target yesterday and they had a PS3 playing. It was some race car game (not ridge racer) or like a doonbuggie or something. But I was blown away with the graphics. Anyone who thinks PS3 is the same as PS2 they haven't seen one yet. I'm getting one not, but I don't think any game systen is worth that much I'll wait untill it comes down to $399.

yeah I love the final fantasy series, but I think you would prefer the PS3 because because there is always going to be a better selection of games for it than wii. I personally think nintendo should get out of consoles like sega and make games for alll the systems. sometimes I want to play Zelda but I ain't buying a wii just for that . To me it seems more geared for 12 and under or something.

Flagg bro, my buddy bought a Wii, and as a gamer, I'm gonna tell you, the controllers totally turned me off from buying or even playing the games!

We tried to play Madden 2007, and to throw a pass, you have to hold a button and flick your wrist in the direction you want to pass WHILE moving the character around with the other hand. We didn't even want to play anymore after 10 mins. If I wanted to deal with that kind of hand eye coordination I'd juggle.

Not impressed one bit.

All I gotta say is Metal Gear Solid 4 on a 50 inch plasma 1080i HD. Wait and see...

I hate to jump on this subject but. You mentioned "wait till 1080i" uhhh dude that aint shit man? Wait till its on 1080p, i sold tvs, and the 1080i's are a ps1,and the 1080p's are a ps3 difference. There are plenty of televisions out there that can now support 1080p, Sony Sxrd, its a 60 inch screen and its only 3 grand, and itll look better then 99%of the plasmas, but to get a 1080p plasma in that size will cost you 10k....sooo if you really want to see a difference, hook a ps2 up to a normal tv, then take a ps3 and hook it up to an SXRD or a 1080p tv... THen you will be amazed. All the commercials are off of 1080p screen shots, thats why they look so ****ing amazing. People go "never looks like that on the box" it does...just not on ur television

Nintendo Sports is pretty cool looking on the Wii. I like the way the bowling and boxing look, and how they will be controled.

Not all games for the wii will use that remote. there is a classic remote that will be used for some games, aswell as attachments for the regular remote controller. It will fit into a gun, steering wheel, and something else (that I don't remeber.)

My younger brother bought a Wii, and I'm going to try play it this weekend when I go over to his house.

I love how it's backward capatable with pretty much all nintendo consoles. Something that the Xbox 360 and PS3 are having problems with. Sony does not even know which PS2 games will work with the PS3. The last press report I read from Sony, was that they are not even planning on making an updated PS3 that will be backwards capatable.

I don't use ebay that much anymore. It would be worth getting banned, to be the winning bidder on a ps3 then not pay.

Well Phreak, I have to admit that i haven't tried the pads yet for the Wii. Nintendo usually design excellent pads as well! But as someone said, prehaps Nintendo should go the way of Sega and make games for the other two. Kinda sucks that Sony and Microsoft have ostensibly killed Sega and Nintendos consoles. Aw well, hand helds still!!

Nintendo still makes great systems. Their nintendo DS out sells the psp, and nintendo has the best selling hand helds ever.

With the DS features, games, and lower price, it is killing the psp.

Maybe the same will be true with the Wii?

Nintendo is purposely marketing their systems at a younger audience, and with a lower price tag, and parental controls it may be a better seller than the xbox 360 or PS3.

Sony and Xbox market their consoles at a older audience than Nintendo. It definately worked for the original PS and PS2, so it's possible that they may wipe Nintendo out of the console buisness.

me too i will get one eventually but will wait till its cheaper and there is a wider selection of games

there are still loads of ps2 games i'm still yet to finish

i'm planing on gettin the 360 when the ps3 comes out as i expect there will be a significant price drop
