    Does any1 eat protein alone?

For the last 2 years I make sure I eat P/C or P/F. The other day I ate P/C for breakfast and just ate protein alone with minimal fat (<5) and my muscles felt so full it was really unreal. Why does this happen when eating protein alone? Ever since I started eating fat with my protein, I have had a keto effect along with it and always feel flat.

Always heard protein by itself would make you flat, never tried it, probably won't either.

I do it all the time....I don't feel much different either way. I don't think it's totally wasted like some people think. Your effects are based on your entire daily intake, not just one meal.

Protein only meals during precontest help me burn fat while maintaining muscle...I know many others that do this for that reason. One thing to note though is that unless you compete or do something that extreme, it shouldn't really be necessary.

I talked to a guy at the gym today that competes and he said a week before competitions he only eats protein meals with a small amount of fat besides for his after cardio AM meal which is pro/carb (oats). Interesting to me.

Keto is glucose sparing. What I think it could be is that your just tapping into your fat stores instead of burning the fat in the meals. This getting leaner could lead you to feel more full as your muscles bulge a bit???

Ditto, just depends on what's going on with my diet at the time.
    Nothing "wrong" with it.

StoneGRMI: He is depleting is why he does that.
