After getting it checked, go get some kick ass wrist wraps from INZER or an equivalent. Not those wussy ones I am talking about ones that wrap around like 4x and feel very uncomfortable till you get used to them.
I have bad wrists from lifting and my work. Since these wraps I have absolutely no problems.
Go ask a powerlifter ( Doc Sust ) about INZER wraps for your wrist or similar products. I am sure they will have the answer.
