CNN just did a report and showed both Hillary and Obama using different accents for white and black crowds. They showed footage from over a year ago with Hillary talking about the country being run like a plantation in front of what appeared to be an all black audience. The difference was more striking with Obama, he sounded very different in the two examples, one speech in Alabama the other in New Hampshire.The report also cited Madonna's new British accent and Oprah Winfrey's "three accents" (one white, one black and one for the Academy Awards)

its not always a conscious thing. when I hang out with my american friends I have an american twang to my accent, when in England I revert to my native accent. I don't always do it...I don't even notice it. weird

Yes she does, but at least Oprah is doing something to help those who really need it. Her building that school in South Africa is one of the most generous things that I have ever seen. Oprah HAS put her money where her mouth is, she can talk in Swahili if she so desires....she's earned the right. We all adapt our outward personas, at least to a certain extent, depending on our enviroment and those in it. The difference lies in the reasoning behind it. i.e, Hillary does not care anymore about black people or their causes than she does about white people, or purple people, etc...they are all just votes to her.

Agreed. It is nice to see someone giving back in a big way. Same with the Gates foundation. Now if only the rest of the top 1% would follow suit.
