Sounds good.
ahh i know the movie now
Love the battle scenes, overall good movie - picture's only drawback is a weak narrative.
Character development suffer but you get the overwhelming sensory experience. It seems a fair trade though...Don't mind seeing it again.
Every foot soldier had an eight pack, looked like BB mag cover...
I saw it on the weekend here in Singapore. Absolutely amazing movie. Very surreal the way it was filmed, you will know what I mean when you see it. What a farking amazing society they were, born and bread to kill and die for there way of life with no fear !!!
Walking hundreds of miles was nothing for soldiers on the move in ancient times, talk about cardio taken to the extreme!Originally Posted by X-Damien
The movie is somewhat historically accurate as well. It's based on The Persian Wars and the Battle of Thermopylae 480 BC.
Some quotes used in this movie were actual quotes made by Spartan king Leonidas.

To even mention a flaw in "300" is blasphemous, unless you’d rather have seen just one more fight sequence.
But less the AR multitudes think this a most shallow engagement, permit me to but fracture your hollow critique.
- Did we not watch Leonidas (the central protagonist): develop fearlessness as a boy in the wild; practice his craft in courtyard; and unwillingly breach protocol due to the insults of defiant messengers? Didn't we explore the lovingly, yet aloof and warrior-like relationship with his wife (which she fully understood); the very austere, yet truly sincere interactions with his son; his reverence for Spartan law in seeking permission for war from the keepers of the oracle, yet lucid understanding of duty priority at their rejection?
- We peered into wife’s soul on many occasions: bold with the messengers; loving as mother & wife; loyal as citizen; her inner strength when necessary (the bed chamber & council hall).
- What of our insights to the character of ancient Sparta? Warring by nature, yet subject to the law, the overt hindrances of politics (crooked & just), and the submissiveness to pagan religious beliefs of Grecian civilization.
- And as for the 300: the unity in their chants of “warrior” and “soldier”; their camaraderie in the field (illustrated by playful banter and quips); civil dedication; and devotion to their profession, king and each other.
Exactly how much character development were you hoping for, and would you have willfully sacrificed another half hour of battle, in a movie about a "LEGENDARY" battle, on said development?
Clearly, this was a movie for guys who like movies, not some thought provokingly existentialist, independent, Sundance Film Festival work.
All due respect to your open forum rights, but dare I say…I think your movie "Music and Lyrics" with Hugh Grant was down the hall!![]()
