Not true. That's like saying table sugar and a sweet potato are the same thing. The nature of the insulin spike caused by low GI carbs versus that of high GI carbs is different. WMS pulls nutrients (like whey protein, BCAA's, glutamine, etc.) along with it into the blood stream at the same time insulin is spiking. This results in better availability and uptake. Dex/Malto cause a very rapid insulin spike, but aren't as a***t as pulling nutrients along with them, which results in poor availability and uptake during the insulin spike.Originally Posted by Giants11
Use WMS post-workout. I like 80 grams of Vitargo CGL, which provides approximately 250 calories and around 60 grams of carbs, in addition to creatine. I mix 10 grams of BCAA's and a scoop of ON 100% whey in there as well.
