    Alcohol and Cycles?

I know boozing is one of the last things you want to do on a cycle but i would like to know the sides effects you get if you do. Im recently single so its hard for me to go out with my bros on the weekend and not drink a few beers.

I would stay away from it. It will put extra stress on your liver and ruin your work outs the next day or 2. Also, mixing booze and gear has been known to cause very stupid behavoir that you would likely never exhibit otherwise.

Excess stress on your liver, especially if you're on orals. Furthermore, for me, alcohol tends to dehydrate the body and ***lete several minerals, which can really throw a wrench in my workouts.

My worst experience: excess alcohol + tren = the worst hangover ever...wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy

I do both, An extra pound of muscle isn't worth not having a good social life. You just need to find a balance. And a few beers shouldn't kill your workout for days.

im with you!! I usually only do it on the weekends as well and my workouts are always during the week so it really doesnt affect them. Just be careful about orals as it can add some extra stress to the liver. Everything in moderation

Why go 3 steps forward and 1 back?? I guess its all down to whats important in life to the individual.

If your taking AAS and your motivated in building muscle why would you want to hinder that? if your social life is that important drink alcohol free beer.

dedication, motivation and being consistant with bodybuilding will achieve your goals, alcohol wont

But my goals in life also include enjoying myself. Like you said its going to vary to the individual and figuring out what is important to you, I would trade a 1lb of muscle for a few sat nights out with the girls having fun.

And do you have to have alcohol to enjoy yourself with girls and in life?

I guess you have already answered that.

I am in the same boat, plus me and my frineds have a summer house at the beach. When we go out Fri night I do not drink but on saturdays I have a few since I do not work out on Sunday. Also I find beer kills me so I drink some Orange vodka with sprite zero taste good, gets the buzz going and its not loaded with to much sugars and carbs.

yea it not the healthiest but I also single and non most guys in house have no idea I on gear so if I cut it out completely they would wonder.

Ok, you need to look at it like this:

Personally, i cannot ****ing stand to drink int he first place so its easy for me not to drink.

But the biggest factor for me is the time and money put into a cycle, why possibly **** it up getting trashed on the weekends (not everyone can just have a couple)? Do your cycle, train your ass off and get the mopst out of it and then celebrate the results later with a couple beers.

I think it just comes down to personal preference, for every guy telling you not to drink while on, you will find a few that will drink. It's your body so I leave it up to you.

i say u can drink one night a week, not excessively but a couple vodka and diets, its not gonna ruin ur body nearly at all if ur diet and workout is alrdy in check. If u need to kick back and have a few one night a week go for it.....wont make that huge of a difference in appearence and drink lots of water.

It makes no sense to me why you have to drink??? Either you take your working out seriously enough to do a cycle and get to the next level or you don't. If you do then drinking just is not a question that comes up. It's seems like a contradiction to do both. From my experience the guys that have to go out and drink while they cycle are the ones that disappear from the gym when off cycle and show back up in the spring. You will never find anyone in serious training at the bar.

to quote homer simpson " to alcohol, the cause of and solution to all of lifes problems!" lol

Like has been previously said, it all ***ends on your goals and preferences. Not everybody on here is trying to be a pro bodybuilder. I dont need alcohol to have fun and I dont even have any in my house. Most of my friends are either bar/club owners or bartenders and its kinda hard to pass up drinks when theyre free most of the time. Plus I work a full time job during the week and going out and having a few drinks on the weekends helps me relax and forget about all the crap going on at work!

I would have to say that a couple drinks on the weekend won't be the death of you, but for real - watch out if you're going oral. Kick back the milk thistle like your a baby, and it's your bottle.

well im from the south so drinking has always been a part of my social life. Either it be at a crawfish boil or family renunion its always gonna be around me. I understand people who dont drink but im not that person, the point of starting the thread really wasnt to ask if i can drink it was more to find out all the sides that booze and aas can cause.

Alcohol will increase estrogen levels in the blood, so there will be a higher chance of gyno, bloating, high BP on cycle. And you also have increased toxity on your liver and kidneys.

    thanks for the input
figured high bp and bloating would be a factor
i usually squirt a few shots of letro before i do go out but not sure if that really helps. Im really try to cut back and take it easy if i do go out but i make sure its not enough to were i cant get up and go run the next morning to sweat it out.

Well alcohol usually dehydrates you so bloating has never been an issue. I'm on an anti-e.

BTW i love the preach of the liver kidneys. I agree it does. But so do a lot of the orals but nobody complains about them. You really think 5 drinks is as bad as anadrol ed?

You squirt a few shots of letro before you go out??? Whatever for? You start taking inconsistent amounts of letro and you will mess yourself up more then you will by drinking alcohol.

Come on guy's, this shit is getting old. Simply leave it at personal choice.

Yes, alcohol is bad for your liver, so is AAS.

Just taking AAS alone can be liver toxic, it is up to you if you wanna add something on top of it that will only hurt your liver further.

Damnit, you're and adult..make you own decision to drink or not.

keep in mind you get drunker faster, you have to piss a lot more, and the hangover is worse.

when i drink on gear i have two states: aggressively pursuing any girl in sight (to the point of being an asshole), and if there aren't any girls, belligerent (keep this under control though).

if you have to drink, be the guy that is sober and very slowly drinks 1 beer throughout the night. waters way better though.

i was talking with my moms personal trainer over the weekend and she was telling me about the pros that come into town and guest pose for local contests and then afterwards they would take out on the town drinking and binging on fast food. She said some of them would just get really drunk while some would just go out and have fun and drink water.

I drink about 8-10 beers 3-4 days a week on or off. Doesnt affect my workouts i record everything. Obviously I could be getting more from my cycle but not enough to make a significant enough difference. If your worried about throwing your social life down the drain and your not training for the pros then its not worth it imo.

Being on cycle will make you feel so good and badass confident, you won't need beer and you will probably find the want to give it up for the time being. Recent studies by Yale University has found that in 80% of the subjects that AAS can cure alcoholism.
