Decrease the volume by about half (depending on your current volume) until your body begins producing it's own natural test. Decrease calories a tad so you do not gain fat during PCT.

Yes, he will need to stay in a calorie surplus even though his calories should be reduced only slightly. The main thing is to keep protein and healthy fat intake high! This is what prevents muscle loss more than anything.
