yah no doubt, just because they are similar doesn't mean their in any same the same, the difference is indeed very small, but C12O6H22 is completely different compound than C11O6H22, they will both exhibit completely different effects just because of a ONE CARBON difference, also the molecule could actually be identical empiral formula or almost structurally the same but the actually shape of the molecule has a lot to due with its binding affinity and the effects it exhibits, neither are actually compounds i was just using them as example...hope this helps
