In gay porn the big issue is "bare-backing" or "bb".
It's considered socially responsible for the actors to wear condoms (although we all can probably agree that condoms are about as sexy as rubber gloves). Some porn stars are known to be HIV+ and they'll do bareback scenes together.
I'd encourage anyone, whether in the industry or not, to wear protection. Many men and women are crying in doctors' offices right now because they thought condoms suck. Hopefully you'll all have a lot of life left to live after your porn careers are long over.
