i have done 495 for 3 before in the past......awhile ago
why is it scary, I do it in the cage with the safty bars under me and have failed before. Nothing too bad happens, I fell forward once and it was nice to have someone there. It made such a loud noise though, it wouldn't have been too long before someone came to help.
You don't fall, you fail and just glide the down. If you have the bars set properly you should be just about touching them anyway.

Just do squats. Your 495 X 3 is really good. Now just add a high volume set and you're golden.
^^what are you confused about? Variations of squats is all I ever do.
For quads I do about six. After that, if I can do more I didn't go heavy/intense/low enough.
...and of course I utilize progressive resistance so week after week I increase until I can't anymore.

^^I wouldn't say you'd have over training problems, but I would guess that it seriously hinders your intensity while in the gym. I mean, it's not really possible to continue lifting heavy after a 6-8 sets.
today is my leg day. i usually do a shot of whiskey before the gym on leg day. helps me from gettin that sick feeling.
ok ruhl, you know more than me when it comes to this stuff...just for me 20 sets would consume a lot of time. I couldn't go all out for 20 sets and if i did I'd need some serious time off.
