inky, I got a question for ya...so the piston for my saab is a size A but they will only sell you a size AB which is a little bigger cause they think you should be re-machining the block if you are replacing a piston. IDK, it's a mess what would you do? go to a junkyard to find one?

Bro, I can't believe they won't or don't sell standard bore pistons for your car! But crazy shiit does happen and with no other alternative then yeah junkyard it is, what a fukking pain thats gonna be if you gotta get it from the salvage vehicle yourself! Who's your source for these pistons?

I've got a few, they are mainly motorcycle pistons that I deal with, but they are companies like wiseco and JE , theres an engine remanufacturing place close to me,. for cars, I'll call them too. It just sounds strange, not every engine needs boring, just a little honing sometimes and sometimes not even that. Theres gotta be a way. Maybe your friend is ordering from a performance shop where they really don't deal with standard bore, cause when people wanna make power the bore their engines. I'll have an answer tomorrow for sure.
