Guys I need your help!
I've got some amps of sus 250 which keeps smashing when I try and crack the top off.. I swear these things are as tough as nails.. any ideas?????

a small file should do the trick, score the edges and it should pop off.

the old galenika's used to do that before they came scored. i used an adjustable wrench to lever off the top.glass would fly everywhere but shouldn't end up in the amp dueto it being slightly pressurized...and if it did, your needle isn't gonna suck up any significant sized shards...you'll be alright
Like the other guys said, a file would help. Score one side a couple mm's wide and it should crack right off

Sorry to take the thread off topic, but doesn't the integrity of the rubber stopper become compromized at some point the more times you stick needles into it?

NO, as long as you clean the top with alcohol swabs and use a sterile needle each time you won't have problems. They can be punctured many times.
