this is going to be close to impossible to answer but i'll ask it for discussion purposes

during the school semester i was sleeping between 6-8 hours a night, but since the semester has ended(around 4 weeks ago) i have been sleeping 10-14 hours a day, even after sleeping from 2am-4pm some days i wake up tired like i just slept for a few hours

    what could be causing this?

do you think getting into a sleep routine would help?

feel free to ask any questions you think related, however personal

I assume that you had a descent sleep schedule during the schools semester. Now your in a different sleeping pattern and is messing with your normal circadian rhythm. It takes some time for the body to readjust to this new pattern and will often interfere with your quality of sleep and cause you to feel more lethargic even though your getting more quantity.

Also if you figure in the fact that your metabolism is suppose to be its highest in the mid afternoon and then gradually goes down from there. You have already theoritically hit your peak metabolic rate, so now your metabolism is ticking down for bed time. Then you have to figure that you have basically been fasting for 12-14 hours, your body is use to a lot more calories at that point in the day.

Dont feel bad I had to really think about this one. I didnt even think about the fasting part until I got up and grabbed a before bedtime snack so I wouldnt be fasting all night long.

Oh yeah it is fine to add this thread to your data base. This is in fact a service to all the members, same as your link thread.
