At the hip gay bars here in LA there are tons of hot women out having drinks with their gay friends. Seriously, going to a gay bar with gay friends can be a really easy way to hook up with chicks. Think about it.. even if there are only a few women.. there are ZERO straight men in there, except for you. No competition.

Take it as a compliment , tell them your straight and move on. No need to be freaked out. I was hit on by a drag once (not my thaaang) and just told her/he/whatever i wasn't interested and it ended right there. Never had to give it a second thought.
