First injections.............How hard is it?

I'm new to this too and I am needle phobic.
I was using the same needle to draw and
inject (22ga 1 1/2) and like someone above
stated would be sore 48 hours later for about
48 hours.
I started switching to a 25ga 1 1/2 after drawing
and have had no soreness whatsoever. Use
proper sterile methods, pull the skin tight and
just press the needle against your skin with
firm pressure (you can jab it if you like )
the new needle is sharp enough that it punctures
the skin and you gently guide it as deep as
you need to then hold firm yet gentle pressure
on the plunger. Pretty easy after the first time.

Does a doctor change needles when you go in for a shot? No, he draws with the same needle and pins you with the same needle (thats how its taught in medical school) there is no added risk of increased infection or whatever bs you guys are spewing out if the area is already sterile.

Obviously you don't know the difference between good or bad advice if you think not switching needles when you draw and inject "is asking for an infection". In medical school the procedure of injection includes using the same needle you draw with to inject with, so obviously as long as the rubber stopper is sterilized with alcohol pad then you g2g.

Don't call someone out if you are not prepared to get called out yourself.

My Wife is a second year med student and i am a clinical pharmacist. If you are drawing up in a steril environment...ie laminar air flow hood, using the needle you drew up with is fine...however...doing it in your kitchen with bacteria and dust floating around is not proper aseptic technique....and you do run a further risk of infection...but were talking a 2 fold increase when the initial risk is in the area of 0.01%. So, do I do it? no I was taught differently and jcaho guidlines will say to change needles if not in a sterile field...their reasonng is it is OK to have the liquid exposed to the air momentarily becuase it has the BA in it....but is it a legit risk...not really...now if we were talking IV..id say your crazy not to change

I just did my first jab and i must say its all mental. it took me about 30 minutes to do it and yes i almost pulled the chute. But once you do it there's nothing really to it. I used 22guage 1.5 long to inject test 400. After the injection it felt a little tender like a minor charley horse so i jumped on the treadmill for 10 minutes at a fast paced walk and now feel perfectly fine. Also i stuck the vial under my arm to heat to body temp before injecting and made sure everything was clean.

i am needle phobic also (nickname as a child was "stitches")
my wife did all of my injections until this cycle. sitting on the floor with the pin in hand, i convinced myself that it wasn't the needle that was my problem. it was thinking of what i am putting in my body. and since this is my 1st "homebrew tren" cycle, it took a few minutes to psyc myself up.
