well the previous one is giving me a bit of trouble...the book doesn't really give us much info about the time dependent equation, it immediately moves on to solving it for the independent equation...not sure we have used the time dependent one in practice at all because all of our problems have been stationary state problems

i didn't suggest that mechanics are stupid or that they make little money. i just think physics may not be his calling and discussing his homework on the thread is less than appealing to anyone.

also, the type of smarts in a good mechanic is different than that of a quantum physicist.
