    Yes it was just starting up. I was in a unversity setting doing research on ERIC, a database of grad thesis research. I remember thinking how awesome it was that I didn't need to look up all the hardcopy files. I never saw this explosion in social interaction sites though, I thought it would just continue as a huge list of research papers run by the defense department. LOL
