    ordering gear online (no specifics!)

What happens if you choose registered mail that you have to sign for, but you are not home when gear arrives? They just leave you a card to sign and return to complete delivery or could problems arouse? I ask b/c site in question recommended that you make sure you are home? Could anything go wrong if you are not there? Thanks for the help!

well, if you are not there to sign, then it goes back to warehouse, and either they try to re deliver or you have to go pick up.

PLUS, you will have to sign with your REAL NAME...so that could always be a risky thing

So are you supposed to use a fake name, I didn't want them to deliver to wrong address or get suspicious so I used real one. I am hoping my wife will be home to sign for me but I am afraid I might end up being out of town for a few days when it arrives...should I be paranoid at all. I read that you cannot get in trouble as long as you do not claim the items as yours, I mean how do I know what I am opening in the package right, could be wrong person

It's not a problem, bro. Once you get the pink card telling you to pick it up then it already passed customs and made it to your local P.O. From there it'll sit in a safe until you come get it.

If you don't want to go there, then find your postman and give him the signed pink card. He should bring your package the next day.

Oh yeah, tip your mailman during xmas and you'll get your stuff.

Use your opposite hand and make it illegible. Your postman won't give a care. Also, if you're paranoid just write "refused?" on it and leave it around unopened for a week. But really once it has arrived then you're in the clear.

If from post office, sign pink slip, fill out RE-DELIVER portion on back, stick in mailbox and put flag up, give them one day to redeliver your package but make sure you sign and fill out "re-deliver" portion on back. Never send it registered, certified, or express. You have to sign for those. If you want a tracking number to track your package, get a "delivery conformation." its only few bucks and well worth it, plus you dont sign for those. Don't worry about signing your name on either, just scribble, they dont care if its legible or not.....trust! If your package is here, your safe, there is no one waiting for you at post office to claim items and arrest you or anything like that, and you can pick up with no questions asked...and remember to tip your mailman during x mas!!!

I hope your right, I mean seems thats what normally happens but this is international mail, so not sure if there is any difference. The more time passes the more paranoid I get, thanks for the reassurance!

Granted I am getting ahead of myself, it has to make it past customs first, but they say 97% success rate so hopefully the odds will be on my side! Baby steps!
