That would actually be a step in the right direction. The '
Pledge of
Allegiance' should, rightfully, be quickly absolved from any daily ritual that we force upon children and should never ever be said again. If there was any more blatant and apparent propoganda from the government, I have yet to see it. Free people do not 'Pledge Allegiance' to anything. It is, indeed, contradictory in nature. The 'pledge' has very socialistic origins (Francis Belamy was an avowed Christian Socialist) and the way we're raised to accept it is pure indoctrination stemming from none other than the progrssive era. In fact, the way many students recited the pledge was with the Bellamy salute. Their hands were outstretched with palms downward. That is until the nazi's salute was considered too similar, which it was. Not to mention it's an egregious violation of the First Amendment.
