Are mult-ivitamins really that necessary if your diet is good?

If your diet is already spot on and enriched with a variety of vitamin dense foods, isn't supplementing with a multi-vitamin just redundant? Do you use multi-vitamins?

on extreme cutting diets, I could see the reason behind taking vitamins....otherwise, it's quite easy getting all your vitamins by making good food choices...

as an example, if I'm on a cut with limited fruit, choose a highly nutritious one, preferably not an apple or a banana....apples and bananas are very healthy, but not "packed" with high levels of any vitamin.....cantaloupe, for example, has a low GI, and one serving provides you with over a day's worth of vitamins A and C....

for veggies, go for the broccoli, spinach (one of the most nutritious foods on the planet) and cauliflower (loaded with extremely high levels of fiber and anti-oxidants)......not so much the iceberg lettuce, eggplant, or corn

don't forget that whatever percentages are listed on tha back of your vitamin bottle are not what they seem.....I would say at most you're absorbing a third of whatever the label says, as vitamins basically go right thru you with relatively low assimilation....

imo a multi v is a necessity! You dont have to go out and buy the expensive "animal paks" but at least pick up an off brand daily multi v... Not for your physique, but for your overall health and well being.

I never take them anymore and have not noticed any difference from when i did.
I remember a thread a while back on the debate of multi vitamins and how much is actually absorbed.
    It was kind of shocking
