This girl i know getting loads of abuse of her ex, he's threatening her and so is his step mum, girl was with him for six years and has a baby with him which makes it more complicated, she called cops for an injunction but they said they cant do anything until he does something, fvkin pathetic, any ideas on what to do?

if she needs proof have a friend punch her in the eye and then go do it yea its a lie but females shouldnt need to prove to them there mate or ex mates are trying to harm them

but nothing shocks me anymore seeing how there are so many reports on ex being killed by crazy ex boyfriends and cops did nothing to stop it just cause she didnt have proof

The New Jersey Domestic Violence Act provides for two forms of relief to a victim of domestic violence: Civil relief, which is in the form of obtaining a restraining order, and criminal relief, which allows a victim to file criminal complaints against the batterer.

The Judiciary of New Jersey continues to be committed to responding to the needs of victims of domestic violence and their families and continues to make strides in effectuating the legislative mandates as set forth in the Prevention of Domestic Violence Act. She doesnt need any others, next time he rings her, ring the police straight away and say he as just threantened to kill her, the police should arrest him and then you should have some evidence to get a restraining order, just make sure someone else is there at the time of the call or better still listening to the phone call, 2 statements are better than one!

you should check your laws where she is to find out what can be done if her state says as it dose above u can get a ppo without proof

id never doing anything over the phone when it comes to cops go there and if there refuse and turn u away ask for the person in charge as this is a pasted law stating they have to help

Agreed, go to the police to have it done, not over the phone. If anyone starts to tell you that you need to wait until??? or anything ask for their name, badge number and name of supervisor in a nice polite way. Watch them go get the papers to get things started....

In this state, they will give a women a restraining order over the phone,(just call 911, and the cops HAVE to issue an emergency one). Then they will serve him asap. She can also go to the court house and the judge, HAS to issue it. No proof needed.

Now, this is good because it protects the women from potential harm.

It's bad, because if you have a fight or something, she can get your arse in trouble big time.

If you give me the state, I can find out.

But she can find out by calling the on line domestic abuse phone number.(if there is one in her state)
