I had my operation the day after the Superbowl. Had a leg workout about 10 days later...day 14 bis and 15 tri's and some delts. Can only do sitting down and machines, and nothing where you would have to lift over your head. My armpits are killing me from the lipo (not sure if you are getting that too, if not you might be ok on the over your head lifting) because that's where they insert the tool. Cannot even THINK about doing chest right now from the soreness-but then again I have a physical job and had to be back at work 7 days after going under do perhaps my job is why I have not healed more???

I do not think you are supposed to run on a treadmill for a month or so but I have been doing some fast walking just to break a sweat. But my chest is really sore after the workouts just from the stabalizer muscles I have to use, but you have to pick and choose your exercises! No dips or shoulder presses for me yet hopefully I can do some chest and back (pulling is out of the question at this point) in a couple weeks but not yet. Sucks though I feel like people are staring at me and my compression vest that's under my shirt!

If you push anything you'll end up possibly tearing any soft tissue that WAS healing and start beeling underneith your skin. Happened to me "going light", but all to soon.

Take this time to reflect on your life and get your new perspective about your goals in and out of the gym.

" beeling underneith your skin"...what the heck is that supposed to mean??
I partly agree with the reflect on your life thing, that can be good from time to time. But if your life is working out then it is what it is.

Each person is different and can handle pain better than others. My doc said there is no risk of doing further damage UNLESS I start chest too early. Some doctors will tell you to wait...just depends on how you handle the surgery and if you are a fast healer. My doctor told me it was perfectly fine to start lower extremities and bi's tri's things of that nature after two weeks. You know your body better than anyone, if you try to lift some and it is giving you problems go home! Work your way back slowly and don't try to go full force like before your operation-it is going to take at least a month to be back at 100% if not longer.

i had it done twice it really depends on how much they have to cut out. The first time i dod not return to weights for months and when i did i had a sharp pain throughout my arm pit and chest region. The second time i took of 2 weeks and waited three to hit light chest. Just make sure you keep to your diet and get plenty of rest you will be fine, i came back stronger after about 6 weeks after the operation i think my body needed the rest. Good luck bro.

Once you have the surgery, it's all touch and go...You will feel like you can't raise your arms above your head, and you won't want to lift.

When I had mine, I was training legs (seated, no squats) in 10 days and exclusively focused on them for a month...After 4 weeks of that, I went back to normal workouts and was fine.

Use the time to focus on your legs and you'll make even better gains when you get back to training upper body.
