Climb the pyramid at Chichen Itza.
Its insanely steep, and once your at the top there are no fences or anything. It would never be allowed in the states.

It must have been a while since you have been there. You are not allowed to climb for about the last 4 years. To many stupid, fat, old Americans fell and tried to sue them. They finally just roped it off so you can not climb it.Last time I was there was about 6 months ago.
The best place I have found to stay if you want location, location, location is the Dreams.

If you want to do cheap make sure you do all inclusive. All your food and drinks are pre paid and MUCH cheaper than if you plan on going out ever day; IF you drink/eat much. Lots of places to choose from who do all inclusive. Review each hotel and the restaurants. Bars/drinks are all about the same.
If you plan on being out and about most ever day then look for location (the dreams) and price but NOT all inclusive.
Another really good area about 45 minutes from Cancun that I would like to stay due to the night life and a little more mature crowd (but I really like the drunk college girls of Cancun) is at Playa del Carmen
Here is a hotel Map. Dreams is on the very TIP of the map in the area with all the clubs, stores, restaurants (Hooters) in walking distance.

That sucks. I was there about 5 years ago. I'm glad I climbed it well I climbed it well I could, it was a good experience. I also went on a snorkeling trip that was fun. It was a 3 hour ride on a huge sail boat to the spot. We snorkeled for a while and then got drunk on the ride back. I think my favorite thing we did was go fishing. We were reeling in fish back to back all day and you never knew what you were gonna catch.
Yup, I got to climb it several years ago alsoYeah I have done the snorkling trips also on the big catamaran. I have also dove off of Cozemel. Cool clifs.
Dont forget to do a cave tour (http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/...n/5466348.html)
and to visit one of the Cenote.
