Its all mind over matter imo. I always been a loner so I was by myself a lot as a kid. I used 2 make my own fun with wutever I cud think of. Lonliness and boredom wasn't really an option. I always figured away 2 keep myself entertained. One place I was at we were locked in for 16-18 hours a day. That was a normal house. People really cudnt handle it. I prefered it because gave me a lot of time 2 think.

when i was locked up in the boonies once... it was 22 hour lockdown. no outside ever. no sun on my skin for 10 months.
no real food other then small portions of beans and cabbage.
that wasnt fun
it either breaks ppl... or makes them stronger... im one of the few it made stronger

ohh 7 days is nothing.... 60 days isn't much either... I was in isolation for 483 days, that was actually not as bad as I thought it would be though. I loved all of the alone time I had to think about all of the many things I wanted to think about.. It made me so strong

locked down for 20 hours a day with very minimal social interaction other than when I'd go out for exercise / shower... I'd be isolated for those times as well other than the guards I encountered.

I'm just kidding though... I've never been locked up like that before... I just find it really funny seeing how many guys like to brag about how they have been in solitary confinement for this or that amount of time.. It's like they are bragging about being a dumb ass... it really makes no sense to me. "Hey man I did something really effing stupid to get me in solitary confinement, I'm sooo cool I think I'll go off on how I can tell people this story over and over again to impress the sh!t out of them!" Honestly it's not something to brag about, it's something to be embarrassed about because what got you there in the first place? its the fact we survived... learned from our mistakes... came out better ppl... changed our lived... and here we are now. with families. jobs. friends. and sexy ass bodies.
you got it backwords bud. we realized we fukked up. we made ourselves dig deep to change those ways. it may of taken jail... but everyone has a moment in their life that makes em think about something other then themselves. why should jail be any different?

I didn't HEAR you guys talking about it... i read it typed out... but I'm not ONLY referring to you two, I'm referring to friends or people I encounter in person and they sound like they are soooo proud to tell their stories like it makes them really cool in other peoples eyes.... A close friend of mine always likes to tell people about how he was locked down for this amount of time with none of this and that for x amount of time... The way he tells people it just comes off like he's really proud of it and bragging like he's such a 'hard ass' I went to jail too but it's nothing I really tell many people unless I feel it might be appropriate... I NEVER want anyone to think I'm bragging about the matter, that's for certain. Didn't mean to come off as a prick though so hope you understand what I mean now.
Anyway I know you're cooler than me... that has been on my mind for a few years now and it used to bug me sooo much. I just recently learned to deal with it though..
