cowboy1212 thats an assinine statement..and a dumb opinion. Im on Test Enth...my diet is good i drink...although there is a certain amount you wanna keep it at. its fine to have a couple every week. or if u prefer alcohol with meals..everything in moderation. dont go out n get ****ed up. no binge drinking.

Alcohol lowers test levels for up to 3 days after consumption... sounds kindof counter productive to me.
im assuming thats when your heavily intoxicated after a night of binge drinking...i would say it affects protein synthesis more than test levels...thats what sucks but a beer with dinner once or twice a week is what i do....i dont think thats hindering my results

If this is a social thing just order a soda water with a lime when you go out. It looks like a mixed drink but its just water. If this is a you will miss alcohol thing you might have a drinking problem.
i dont know why everyone makes such a big deal about this. can you drink?? yes go for it. do you want to get the most gains possible, than no, you probably shouldnt drink.
It all comes down to how serious you are about your health, body and results... once you make the decision to take AAS start acting the part and be responsible enough to cut the drinking for a couple months
drinking isn't ideal on cycle, but it won't affect gains quite as much as it would if you weren't taking any AAS at all

no, i never said anything about 17aa. wouldnt bother me none, to drink while on 17aa. obviously i avoid it, but im not gonna sit around worrying about it, if it happens. this is another thing people make way too big of a deal over. if you piss blood after doing it, then clearly thats something to avoid from then on. but it doesnt bother my body, the odd time that it happens.
Try to stick to the lighter end of the drink spectrum. No Everclear maybe just a glass or 2 of a light draft beer.
Heavy drinking might help take some of the fight out of the testhyped trouser snake.
That, and if you get into a fight while both drunk and on aas, your bear the risk of becomming a prime time news stereotype

I would like to see some research data on the alcohol-influence-on-muscle-growth discussion. I agree, that you are never going to compete if you drink excessively, but I have friends that drink a six-pack a day and have natural test levels of over 800 (and they are over 65 years old).
I've been lifting for 50 years off and on (mostly off) and came from 12" arms to 18" arms - and drank rivers of whiskey - not to mention other excesses that are detrimental to health - supposedly.
I think most guys who work out hard, don't need alcohol to chill-down; the endorphins create euphoria and mood elevation.
If you are not into the club scene, partying, whore-mongering, and other fun stuff, then alcohol is not in your environment anyway. I travel to Rio pretty regularly, and I smoke cigarettes with the locals, drink Caipirinhas, and...oh yeah...prostitution is legal in Brazil.
I'm pretty sure that hookers are bad for you as well.

then he said.. because the human body will try to maintain a hormonal state of homeostasis thus if you raise estrogen your test levels should elevate proportionally.. now hearing him say that made me giggle..
personally if i drank heavy and tried to train in the same week, ide never have the intensity needed to gain muscle...

I used to drink steady and I've done heavy drinking on a weekly basis while running a test/tren cycle and the aftermath was obviously bad head-aches and really bad water retention along with increased acne that I didn't have before. I believe this is because your body naturally retains water after heavy drinking because it's in shock from dehydration and goes into survival mode and stores more water. This is my first cycle back on since I quit drinking more than 6 months ago. I'm almost 2 months into running 800mg Test E/wk and a few other goodies.. and so far absolutely zero acne, far less water than I ever used to get and wayy better gains. This is the first cycle I have ever run without drinking or partying and I'm amazed with the difference.. but that's just my 2c everyone is different.
Alcohol reduces your stomachs ability to absorb nutrients. It dehydrates you affecting cell volume and energy production in the mitocondria. It taxes your liver which is responsible for releasing many of the proteins that run your body and depletes it of glycogen causing it to release IGF-binding proteins which in effect reduce your bodies ability to build muscle. These effects last for 36 to 48 hours after consuming more than a couple drinks.
