Unless its in your head because it's your first injection, like Big said, no it's not normal. You usually feel the oil in the injection site for a few minutes if you try to move the muscle after your injection. However it soon spreads throughout the muscle and you shouldn't feel it.

Is the skin above the injection site, swollen, red itchy?

kind of red, not itchy at all. but i can feel it when i sit down

even bending over to strech before i workout legs i can feel it really tight in my glutes
