    Juicing without working out?

Okay, so some guy I know (that's never used gear) is trying to tell me that he could do a cycle without working out and still gain 18lbs of muscle. He's saying this because of something he read somewhere where they did an experiment and this was the result. His argument is basically that he could gain more muscle by doing a steroids for 12 weeks without working out, than he could by working out naturally for 12 weeks. I tried to argue that steroids by themself will not increase muscle. Aren't I right? Don't you need to work out to actually gain muscle?

He would gain weight but not muscle , and of course if his job is physical labor (like moving, heavy lifting) then yeah sure maybe. but sitting at a desk not working out,no way he gains 18 lbs of muscle.

That's what my argument is...the weight would be water, not muscle. But does someone have any scientific threads or something I can show this guy...don't want him to waste his money getting full of water! More than that though, it just urkes the shiit out me when I hear something like this...people thinking that steroids are some miracle juice.

LOL Actually to be honest...I kinda want him to do it so he can see for himself, but like I said, it just bothers me when I hear stuff like that. I just wanna show him something to prove him wrong.

He will absolutely gain some muscle

ie) when girls get sex changes they take basically trt, and see a huge swing in body comp. Increased muscle - reduced fat

does this suprised anyone? increased testosterone absolutely means increased muscle, training or not.

HOWEVER... he's already a guy, so the gain could be small and will be dose dependant. And he will absolutely lose it all after cycle if he doesn't eat and train to maintain it.

No need to show him anything. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the guy fail at life. That in itself is priceless.

If I remember correctly, there was a study written about in "Death in the Locker Room," a one-sided book on steroids. They gave small amounts of gear to a bunch of people and had them either training or not training and had a second batch doing the same without taking anything. The group that did use and not train gained a minimal amount.

You'll gain a bit I would imagine, but nothing sustainable and nothing worth the $ paid. Why not put in the work and get the best results?

Sounds like the type of people who give the layman a bad outlook on the use of these wonderful hormones.

I would tell him to get as educated as possible, try and see past the propaganda, and start a good training and diet regiment first.

There not hitting the bench press but they are constantly walking around weighing 1000lbs. I have to disagree with just about every statement that compares animal muscle growth to a humans. Especially large animals such as cows and horses. They have evolved to be naturaly big and strong without "bench pressing"

    To the op.

There's no winning these arguements but if it's a friend you care about don't let him try this out and potentially have adverse side effects. Especially since he probably has no knowledge of pct.

they did that study in the Anabolics book. i read it and it is true that you will gain muscle not fat by doing nothing, its no t alot but just think. They give deca and other steroids at a very low dose compared to body builders to aids patience which makes them build mass. Is it going to change your physic, hell no.

He'll gain plenty of weight from estrogen and glycogen retention, but very little of it will be muscle mass (and this is entirely diet dependent). He will also likely lose a bit of fat as well. However, these changes won't be enough to compensate for what he will lose when he comes off and is androgen depleted for a few weeks (assuming he has a decent PCT), so he'll probably actually come out a bit fatter and smaller overall.
Also, there are so many variables here: genetics, DIET, lifestyle, activity level. The fatter and weaker he is now (especially if his test is on the low side), the more benefit he would likely see from the AAS by themselves.
