I freaking LOVE injecting myself. But if you are the type of person that can't take shots and you seem to have panic attacks and/or get light headed and pass out, one trick that works is to suck on a candy shortly before or while you are doing your injection.

And don't think about it so much.
    I like them too.

I dont know how the hell you can almost pass out from an injection, its not going to kill you.

I also go slow and always have. If you hit a nerve when injecting "like a dart" its seriously going to f*cking hurt. Be safe, be slow and inject slow too.

I've almost passed out giving myself an injection. My other two friends who use, 1 has the problem the other does not. Seems to be person based and what works for me is to breathe deep and slow cause it helps relax me.

My symptoms are I start sweating and breathing fast, almost like a panic attack. I don't think it makes you a newb if you have the problem either as someone else eluded to.

    Is "Squeamish" the word?

Yeah, you know what freaks me out? The thought of a needle hitting the bone. Just the idea if it tapping a bone, and imagining what kind of pain that would bring. Or a needle breaking off inside if moving a muscle. Like hitting the bone and moving real quick because you spaz.
Could you imagine if that would happen?

Just little paranoid everyday thoughts are healthy. They keep you from doing stupid things.

Just throwing these out there. lol I humor myself. (EEeeeK!)

It dosent hurt when you hit bone. I had a swollen elbow and I drained it with a 18g pin and hit bone. Anyway back on subject, I inject slowly, once you brake the outer layer of skin it dosent hurt anymore. Ive done hundreds and hundreds of injections and only had to repin a couple times because of blood when I aspirated. Youll get it down.

I hear you. I had a serious knee injury, and had my knee "tapped".
The needle was an 18gauge. I don't dare to say it was larger than 18gauge, because I wasn't too happy about it and I don't want to blow it out of proportion. The needle was massive.
It didn't hurt while moving through my joint getting out all the fluid.
The initial penetration was not to my liking. The doc put nitrogen on my knee first. Very cold.

    Good times
