    Tendonitis in the elbow

Is there anything you can do for this? I have a pain even when I shake someones hand. Really painful when doing curls? Doctor wanted to give me a steroid shot, but I am thinking that will just mask the pain and I could do damage to even further and not know it. Any ideas would be helpful.

Just saw the sticky on tendonitis and read that. I will try the exercises and see if that helps. I have already had steroid pills prescribed to me by the doc. They helped somewhat but it was only a weeks worth. I have been out of the gym for about two weeks now, and I am ready to go back, just don't know if the elbow is ready.

its a common nasty injury bro....

cortizone shot is best to relieve pain but like you said it doesnt cure it only takes the pain away...rest is best....do exercises that dont aggrevate it....if you are limited due to severe pain or feel as if you could be making it worse or preventing healing....focus more on your legs and abs and do anything upper body that doesnt aggrevate your elbow...more cardio....i know your goals...lighten the weights..do what you have to do...i live with tendonitis as well..all i take is ibuprofen...good u found the sticky....best of luck as usual
