Switching other protien sources for cottage cheese?

First let me explain my situation. I work up north in camp and am currently trying to cut. I basically half to eat what I'm served but there are some healthy consistencies. Every day I can get salmon, chicken, and tuna for my lunches well I'm working. I eat them every day so I can keep my protien sources and diet lean during the day. The problem lyes at dinner... The selection is fairly random each night with the exception of steak night (fairly unlean cut). Other times there might be roast beef or pork drenched in it's own fat juices or some sort of battered deep fryed mystery lol. One thing that is available every night is cottage cheese. Not sure but I'd say 2%. I currently eat about 3/4 of a cup every night right before bed. My question is on nights when I can't get a lean source of protien can I eat cottage cheese for dinner as well as my last meal? Or if I can't get a certain lean lunch choice can I replace it with cottage cheese? Once again I am cutting.. I've been told to eat it before bed but never at other times and how many times a day it is acceptable to eat..
Thanks for the help again guys I am learning a lot being part of this site and reading all the posts! Glad I joined!

Absolutely. As long as you can tolerate the boring lack of flavor, and don't have a problem digesting the small amount of lactose, it's a perfectly fine choice/substitute.
