1000cc streetbike for first motorcycle? With the 600cc he can focus on learning handling, entries, exits, braking, down shift ing in corners etc much more safely.

Having enough power on tap to get yourself into big trouble quickly might not be the best choice.

So I made quite a few phone calls and did some further research and I definitely get shafted this season. Because I'm both under 21 and haven't been licensed for atleast 5 years, anything 400CC's or over is considered "High Risk" and would be $3000-$3500 on insurance (which ONLY Covers liability). However, anything sub 400 is a much more manageable $1700.00 (Canada sucks sometimes). Furthermore, because of my lack of driving experience and age, I only have like 3 insurance company options but they are all atleast quoting me roughly the same price (Alot of Insurance companies such as like ING, Allstate, Bank Insurances, etc require either all vehicles to be with them or have atleast 5+ years driving or be X years of age or older. The good news is next year I'll be 21 and I'd be looking at $1800 - $2200 on insurance on a 400 - 600 CC Bike.

    You could get a Ninja 400r then. It's not really 400cc, it's only 399!

She does have rather broad shoulders and possibly an adam's apple (her chin is in the way).

Hell yes, after 3 months he will be begging for more power. Also learning handling, entries, exits, braking, down shifting in corners etc can be done on any bike, speed is the factor in all of this whether your on a 600cc or a 1000cc bike.

If he buys a 600cc he will be back on this forum and very thread in 3 months time complaining about its lack of power.

Well luckily for him the Canadian government attempts to restrict his large cc bike as a first bike as well by imposing super high insurance rates for bikes over 400cc because he's in a high risk age group.

Theres plenty of time in life to move up after learning the ins and outs of riding.
