New to TRT need help lowering very high Esradioll lvl

    Hi everybody,

I'm on a Dr. approved TRT for almost 2 months now. I had all the pre tests and my Test was at 87 and then 4 weeks later at 91 before I started anything. They did MRI and all the tests came back neg. so I was started on TRT for HYPOGONADOTROPIC HYPOGONADISM . Here's the deal though, before I found this site, I thought I knew what I needed to know, and after not getting the results I thought I should, and the Dr. not cooperating, I played Dr. to myself. I got a second prescription of Test Cyp and went crazy. I injected myself with 400mg to start, and then went to 300mg every 5 days. I know, I know, I was very very stupid. So, after 1 month, my new Dr. sent me for BW. Needless to say, my levels were sky high:

    Total Testosterone: >1500 ng/dl 348 - 1197
    Free Testosterone >52.0 pg/ml 6.8 - 21.5
    Prolactin 33.0 ng/ml 4.0 - 15.2
    Estradiol 217.5 pg/ml 7.6 - 42.6

    Roche ECLIA METHODOLOGY

SEE PART 2 NEXT POST PLEASE!

    PART 2

I can't get the forum software to let me post what I did, Dang it!

When I got these results, I got scared and found this website. After much reading (which I wish to God I'd been smart enough to do prior, I called my Dr. He would not prescribe an AI, other than to tell me to lower my TEST dose to 100mg/wk and try CHRISIN. Well, I've realized that he's no help and I trust you guys here more than him. I got ahold of some Nolvadex and Liquidex but not sure how to dose exactly.

Can you guys please help me evaluate what to do?

I know your gonna chew me out for playing Dr. but please help me anyway, I want to save my marriage and bring back my life.
    Thank you!

Ok well, your doctor is correct... lower the dose.

I would say you can start at 80-100mg per week. But skip the next injection because you are so high.

As for the aromatase inhibitors... they are tricky. You must get bloodwork to know how they effect you.

Nolvadex is only going to be used if you have symptoms of early gyno. Are you experiencing puffy nipples, itchy nipples, growth behind the nipples?

Liquidex... is that anastrozole/arimidex? If so, I would probably say take 1mg every other day for a week then back it down to .25mg twice per week. The only reason I would dose that first week so high (relatively) is because your estradiol is sky high.

Of course, these are just the recommendations of a lay person. You would be wise to find a QUALIFIED DOCTOR IN MALE HORMONES as soon as you can. Most doctors know very little about male hormones... do not settle with your health on the line.

Finally, chrysin and grape seed extract are decent natural aromatase inhibitors... but we don't have scientific on their effectiveness in male HRT as far as I know. They almost assuredly are nowhere near as potent as anastrozole.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I got liquid Arimidex (I thought I read that in that form it was called liquidex, but im a noob, so...). I haven't had any gyno symptoms, which I cant hardly believe at that high a level of Estradiol.

    Again, thank you sooo much.

p.s. will the Prolactin lvl come down on its own over time too?

Agree with HRT. To further what HRT said re Nolva, it won't effect your E2 level as it's a serm, not an AI. Meaning it blocks receptors in the chest area inhibiting E from binding there. Please take some time and read all the stickies. Welcome to the forum and good luck.

First of all I would just listen to what your Doc says...we are all just a bunch of amateurs, so take that for what's worth!

Me, I would do NOTHING - by that I mean don't touch a syringe for the next couple of weeks.

You're on the right track - it is called "liquidex" but not everyone knows that, and no you're not a noob on this so don't worry. Gyno won't show up for a while so don't sweat it.

Get back on a 50/75 mg test 2 x each week dose (or whatever your Doc says) and then in 3-4 weeks get some lab work.

Oh yes, forget the Nolvadex, you are already on the best PCT there is (test).

My Doc just went on and on about the side effects of Arimidex, hence the Chrsin recommendation. After reading here, I didn't expect the C to have much effect on a 217.5 E lvl. I've not seen one that high on here, and it had me worried, but with no Gyno symptoms, I'll just stick to lower T and Liquidex. Since the BW, I tapered down to 200mg/wk in two doses. Now that I got the Liquidex (just came today in the mail), I will take a break and then start low dose T and maint dose Liquidex.
    Thanks all.

200mg per week is still high for most people. Typically as said it's 75-100mg a week to be in a good normal range and most people do not need an AI using that amount due to the E2 levels being OK.

Still, dont freak out so much about the E2 levels, just fix it. Mine were at 279 at one point. Only thing it did was make all the test a waste of time.

Many people are perfectly happy with the gels for HRT. You may have to use them 2x a day or get the pump and use 2 or 3 pumps at a time. If you have kids or worried about transferring to a spouse or loved one then ask for injections. Again I would not go over 100mg a week unless you had definitive long term blood work that said you needed more to be in the normal range.

More is not better as you are finding out and 200mg for most people is still in the MORE zone.

Your right, I found out the hard way. I had a week or so of amazing sex and then, went downhill as I suppose my E was rising, wiping out the benefits as you said. I wanted those same resultz and thought I needed more. What a dope. Thanks to the forum, Im confident I can get back on track. My Dr. said I can get tested anytime, so thats cool. I will stick to 100 or 150Mg a week as recommended. Thanks again
