1 inch for Quads, Delts, Lats and Traps. Glutes usually require longer but I never do glutes.

the way this guy does looks awkward. I just put my arm up on the door frame and hit it. Pretty easy actually. Good grip. Its like doing delt, except your arm is up and youre pinning under it.
