If you gained a lot of fat and water you weren't eating well and your diet isn't in check, this would also mean your probably not training proper either, get those sorted and watch the gains

i dont mind drinking egg whites at all, no taste off them for me and as you already said, it 100 times easier then trying to eat them,
100g oat made into porridge and 10 scrambled egg would be hard to force down day in and day out

Specifically what are you eating that is a complex carbohydrate. We eat bland tasting shit like steel cut oatmeal because it tastes good. No really. You eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. white bread, that is not a complex carb. White bread and similar products are full of simple carbs that convert to sugar in your blood stream causing an insulin spike. This leads to fat deposits being retained because that is what insulin does. Even with a quality diet bodybuilders that use insulin post workout see fat deposits accumulating. Jelly? You think you can eat sugar laden products and a gram of carbs is a gram of carbs. Maybe it works that way in general populationville, but not in the world we live in. You have the same mindset as the majority of the population. The majority are overweight and flabby. Change sources and then do an 8 week cycle consisting of 1500 mgs of test-e or test-c weekly and give us an update! If you still do not make gains you are going to need an oral like d-bol thrown into the mix. Next step would be to add tren!

Bulking doesn't mean eat whatever, whenever to just get calories in... Bulking is eating more so what you eat when you cut times 5 (just trying to put it in perspective) 5,000 calories of mcdonals is WAY difft than 5,000 clean calories.. Ive never heard of some people responding to test and others not.. Test is a hormone that we all have in our bodies, and something we all need to maintain a positive state of well being... i think the test is far from the issue here.
Always trying for a couple more as long as it's LBM. Been a struggle all my life to gain weight. One of the best things I ever did when I started out was to train in a gym full of powerlifters. Started around 145 now hold steady for years around 220 but gaining has always been my nemesis.

I am being serious. I have seen a few people not respond to low doses of test such as 500mgs weekly. Everyone reacts differently to various drugs! For example, some get gyno taking as little as 200 mgs of test per week while others can take 2 grams per week and never show the first sign of gyno.
My gut reaction is that he's bought some watered down test but it's possible that he may just not be responding to 500 mgs weekly. And even if his diet was off like FireGuy suggested (AND I THINK FIREGUY IS RIGHT!) he still should have got considerably harder, stronger and gained some water weight with it being his first cycle given he responds to test like most of us . The culprit is either one or both of the variables I have mentioned. He will have to find out for himself!
