New to everything - and a big howdy to all!

Hi y'all! I'm a tall skinny guy (an ectomorph, if I understood it right), but got strength and potential, grew up working hard on the farm in the Deep South, been an amateur bull rider, did many things in life and been to a lot of places. Lived a lot in my life, and after all the rambling, I ended up settling down in the land of my ancestors, Scotland, where I have been living for a couple of years. I moved permanently. I used to work out when I was 16, but when I was 18 I almost died and was unable to do anything for a while. Lost motivation, experienced a lot of depression and had a lot of issues. Let myself go. Then two years ago I suffered another great physical trauma that put my plans back. I recovered the best I physically can, even quit smoking and now, at age of 29, I am looking to live a better life - get back on track, before it's too late to be willing to change. Yes, I want to get big and look good, guilty as charged. But I am past the age of expecting immediate results. I know it will be a lot of hard work, planning my diet, gaining a lot of weight, etc, so I know that if I ever decide to get on the juice, it will be a long time, and I am fine with that. They are legal here for personal use, so when the time comes, it won't be such a hassle. But again, I am in no hurry and I wanna do everything by the book, in the right time. Diet, exercise and supplements - I reckon that's all I need to worry myself with at the moment, along with knowledge.

I am here to do what I do best, listen and learn. A day is never wasted if you learned something new. I am very humble and know little of the gym ways, so if I say something stupid, it's because I am ignorant on the subject. And just by reading and researching here, I have learned much already. I haven't started working out again yet, because I do not want to work out wrong, and lose instead of gaining. I don't know if that is right or wrong, but I reckon I will find out as I read on, and hear y'all out. I will be asking questions eventually, when I find the appropriate places in this forum to do so. Also, for the record, I live in a remote village in the far-north of Scotland, there is a gym, but it's an open gym with equipment, no instructors, no crew, nobody to give advice, etc. Just a gym. So I will be reading this website and others for workout plans. In the future, I aim to invest in equipment and do it all at home. Right now, I am changing my diet. I eat a lot and everything, but in the wrong way. Apparently, that is why I don't gain weight, not just because of fast metabolism. I getting into proteins, eggs, etc. I will get supplements. I want to carefully plan everything.

Alright, I reckon that's about it. By the way, I work in two jobs, sometimes at 16 hours a day, so I'm hardly at home these days and tend to check the Internet only once or twice a week. So if it takes a while for me to reply, it ain't lack of interest, I'm just away - but I will always be back to check whenever I can.

I hope y'all have a great week and thank you very much for having me.
