Spy is referring to keeping the heart rate high (above 135 for him).... With a high heart rate your going to burning lots of glycogen....
As far as the 20 min sugar crash he is referring to.... I don't understand exactly what he is saying..... However, stored glycogen stores are going to be burned at a rate determined by how hard you are working... So I suspect the 20min statement is a guideline on him behalf...
