i honestly think it was for having a different opinion to one of the mods or something in a thread, but who knows im over it. this was my first ever account on this site then i got sick of the username and created the other account. surely i wont get banned if this is my only account now?

you will if you tangled with the mods, changing over to another account wont save you. in fact, having more than one account is a banning offence here.
