hi, just took 200mg (1 pill) of generic modafinil.
The effect should be, focus on work, and less sleepiness.
I don't feel more focused. I actually feel more tired...
but yes, its perfect for IF or strict diet, can't eat anything, can't get anything in my mouth!

You clearly have no idea what the true purpose of this drug is. It is on the up and up in Europe and is starting to be used as an alternative for amphetamines. AKA adderall, ritalin, vivance. It is also used for people with sleeping disorders

People use it to get better grades as it is 'supposed' to increase concentration etc!!.... I took it and it just killed my appetite and id say the increased concentration i got was just placebo!... waste of money

Modafanil, which is available under the brand name Provigil, is a wakefulness promoting agent used for 3 FDA approved indications: obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome, narcolepsy, and shift-work sleep disorder (where one works overnight our has constantly changing daytime/nighttime shifts). It is sometimes used off label for ADHD although it has not been proven to improve focus or concentration in controlled studies (to my knowledge). It is also appropriately used and often the initial drug of choice in idiopathic hypersomnia/hypersomnilence, which has manifestations similar to narcolepsy.
Provigil, modafanil, contains two isomers - one short acting and one long acting. The long acting one is armodafanil, which lasts 3 times longer and marketed under the brand name Nuvigil by the same company that provides Provigil (Cephalon).
To answer an earlier post, it does work immediately following the first dose as the idea is that it has an 8 hour half life so it wears off by night time to slow sleep.
