I'm not disagreeing with you as I have read plenty on the Portugal model. If we were speaking only of a green leafy substance, that would be one thing. To lump all illegal drugs into the same prohibited category is silly. To believe that ICE usage is limited to the user only in terms of victimizing is also silly. Since rec drug use is prohibited I wont pick each one apart but they cant be lumped together when some have a physical addiction while others are a psychological addiction.

But the Portugal model proved that ALL drug use went down including heroine use that was out of control. The money and resources ars beter spent on addiction recovery.

i had a long post here sarge but i am just going to let this topic die with me.. capital punishment is considered Biblical where i attend church and in many churches i have attended. i will say this though sarge: u saying me using the bible to substantiate my beliefs is as ridiculous as HK using it to substantiate his?? are u serious dude?? thats what Christians do: use the bible to substantiate our beliefs. this is WHY GOD GAVE US THE BIBLE.. that is the essence of applying biblical principles to our lives... it is not ridiculous in the least bit.

Seems like a lot of people support the death penalty simply for prison overcrowding and monetary reasons, crazy. Lets not pretend that our prisons are full of murderers because they're not. They're full of inmates on drug charges. I don't remember the statistics but its something like over 50% are on drug charges and less then 10% for murder/manslaughter.

Makes more sense to decriminalize possession of controlled substances than to execute more people if overcrowding is the issue.

But I support the death penalty when implemented properly.
