    The new hamburger

I came across this the other day, it's scary to think what the future holds for a food.

    Any thoughts?

Your link is bad. But the article has been around. Absolutely disgusting if you ask me. Expect a host of other health issues to plague us, as if we don't have enough already.

There seems to be a trend. Every new thing people come up with, the repercussions seem to be worse.

Well of course it's going to cost 300 grand. So does anything we research continuously. That will not be the case forever...

I think it's a phenomenal idea and will prove to be necessary in years to come.

I'd eat it. Get some meat without slaying animals? Sign me up. Can't be worse than all the chemicals they are pumping into our food nowadays.

I don't know if I agree with you here, I believe the same idea was brought up about can foodsand look what they are now. I do understand the general idea may sound good but overall someone down the line will abuse it.

Everything that exists and available to us today is abused. Everything.

those are R&D, not production costs....

if an auto maker designs and manufactures a single car, then that car will cost you millions.....

My question would be how many grams of protein are there in a 8oz burger?

Not really. As of March this year the human population exceeded 7 billion. If we are really trying to eliminate global famine and poverty and give everyone the chance to eat like we do, this is a must. Seeing as death is completely unacceptable to the human race, and a lot of us are living far longer than we should be, it only makes sense that this has to happen.

Where else are we going to put all the cows? Where else are going to make land for the extra cows to go on in the first place? Shall we look to the heavens and hope "God" makes extra land?

Some people might not know this, but 40% of all crops made in the world will be eaten by pests before they get to us. We are always having to make more land for agriculture and living space. Locusts have the luxury of moving to other fields once all the food is gone. We dont have the luxury of moving to another planet when all the space is gone.

I understand how most can feel about this evolutionary hamburger, after all look at our crops, they have been genetically changed to what they are now, but just as anything man puts their hands on, have many adverse effects. In a perfect world this would be a great idea but we do not live in one. I fear the outcome of this
