There are other things to consider other than Total Testosterone. Total is meaningless if Free Testosterone is low.
If an individual qualifies for treatment, they go to the doctor for their face to face visit and the doctor makes the final call.
Where did you come up with the 600 number? We don't have specific numbers posted anywhere in regards to TRT.
Under 30 will require that the individual admits to prior anabolic steroid use and a desire to be done with that. If no prior steroid use, there would need to be documented medical proof of a physical condition that could have lead to low levels. If no proof is available, the doctor will also take into account opiate abuse and anti-depressant use. However, in many young guy cases, if there is no reason for the man to have low levels, the doctor will require a MRI on the individual's pituitary. If that has already been done and you have records to show its been done, that is taken into consideration.
All of these things such as drug abuse, injury and illness should always be made aware of if you're going to get the care you need, but under 30 there is a lot more scrutiny.
what? i would get punished for being under 30 and never taking steroids? if i have blood work showing below normal range t levelswould that be all i need? at 19 my t was 277, 23 it was 339, and last tt was 256...no other cause was found besides being low t.ive also had about 10 mris of the pit.
It's not being punished. The doctor has to have a reason to prescribe someone testosterone and when younger than 30, having low levels for the same reason as a man over the age of 30 is not the norm. Many doctors will require a lot from a guy under 30 because when they are reviewed they won't to be able to show they weren't prescribing testosterone for performance purposes. No sane doctor is going to risk jail just because you have low t. There are expected rules to follow, granted some are over the top but they still have to be followed.
