Absolutely terrible ending. I don't know if there was a way they could have made it any more terrible than they did. I'm serious, every other possible ending, any other possible ending would have been better than this.

This is what old producer had in mind. He left the show after Trinity season. Show went downhill after that season. I think his ending would have been much better.

It was terrible but this show has been so bad for 2-3 seasons. They changed the character so much it was hardly the same person. You watch season 1 and this is a totally different character.

Had to end somehow, thought the cheesy beard was a little much. Would of been better if they just found the slice of life boat wreckage and left us not knowing if he was dead or not.

I stopped watching this season around episode 6.

I felt it lacked the depth that the others had, I wasn't sat at the edge if my seat each episode, I wasn't getting excited for the next one.

Reading this ending has confirmed it, they ruined it.

Yea, I didn't believe any of it really happened. Hate it when they use a bunch of writers to try and improve the storyline of these so called "reality shows".

well dang it man.. i had to wait until now to come into this thread cuz i just finished the series a few minutes ago. i was a bit disappointed but i also think chances are no matter what they did people would be unhappy with how they did it.

this seems to be typical of series finale in my experience. the one that comes to mind for me was seinfeld. how do u cap off a show that was so great and lasted for years in a way that leaves everyone satisfied? i dont think it is possible.

i do like the old producers idea but it is what it is. who knows, maybe they left it that way in case dexter decides to come back..

I watched every season twice, look at my username, one simple can't just disagree with me. - Just kidding lol.
"And then they lived happily every after" wasn't meant to be for Dexter. But of course it's just an opinion.

At the end when he sits down there usually would be an internal dialogue, but the absence of it signifies Dexter's disconnection from his previous life. So maybe safe to say Dexter died as a character? dark passenger is gone?
Each of us will draw different conclusion from the ending, which is good, something to talk about
I think most people expected Dexter to die, but writers decided to make a twist, which I simply disagree with.

I didn't think ending was that bad.. It could have gone either way.. But this might leave it open for a spin off and he can make an appearance or something.. Who knows? They could even start it up again.. Harrison a killer? Hannah tracks him down? They are even bringing back "24" so anything can happen

Trinity season was the best. It hasn't been very good since. Finale wasn't very good. Time to move on.
