    Anxiety from TRT

So I'm in my 3rd week and getting quite a bit of anxiety. It seems to be getting worse the past few days. Along with the anxiety my heart rate is slightly elevated and I csn really feel it beating. I'm thinking it may be a raise in esteogen beacause I've been a bit moody and just about cry when reading some sad story on FB. Getting BW In a week or 2 just curious if the anxiety could

Ive been on TRT since June 2013. Prior to this I experienced full blow anxiety attacks about once a week as well as an overall feeling of dread and despair. About a month into TRT the despair and anxiety just about disappeared. I can say I have not had an attack in a very long time. I still hate everyone though! lol

Stop living by what the bloodwork tells you. Go by how you feel and give it time.

That's exactly what im doing. I'm feeling anxiety and trying to find the cause . I've stopped drinking all coffee and pre workouts and see How that goes. Are you suggesting I stop TRT?

I felt anxiety the first week of TRT injections, but I cannot in good conscience connect it to treatment. SO many factors enter into feelings of anxiety. What Bass said in post #6 above is one of them. I'd suggest you sit back and reflect on the events in your life and see what else could be affecting you at this time. You may see that it has nothing at all to do with TRT.

Are you sure you're not mistaking energy and high pulse with anxiety, this is normal for ppl on trt, I get it all the time, so I use it up in the gym.

It's a known side effect, it effects some nerves that have to do with your breathing. Somehow the nerves stop detecting how much you're breathing and it feels like you're not getting enough oxygen and you start feeling cluster phobic.

this is how I felt when my doc cut my AI back to try and get my E up in the 30' from 14. I felt like my face was bloated and my eyes were bloodshot red with pressure behind them. I felt like crap too. I was tired and it sucked. Also my doc had me go IM from subq because of bad reactions to test. My test went from 800 to the early 500's. IM didn't work for me.

Im alot better now that I'm getting closer to being dialed in. Thats probably what you're going through. It does get better if that's all it is for you.

As stated above I started OCT 30th, would my numbers be way off if I got my BW done this Monday? Should I just stick it out? My doc gave me the lab slip I can go whenever I want

Mach, I also posted in your thyroid thread, but didn't hear back from you. Regarding this current "anxiety" situation ... Do you have your baseline labs? All of them? I looked through your recent threads and didn't really find anything noted about your diagnosis, except a thread where you said your total serum was 220'sh something. How do your adrenal labs look? As noted in your thyroid thread, you need a more comprehensive thyroid assay with the FT4, FT3, RT3 and antibodies, along with supporting labs of iron/ferritin, B12, magnesium, D3. Hopefully you have your baseline hormones, along with CBC's, lipids, metabolic, & PSA?

Pre bloodwork was pretty out of whack due to me having lymes disease for 3 years and not knowing. Some issues that are now self correcting. diagnosis as far as TRT goes is I have an undescsded testicle that never dropped, so only 1 working testicle. My endo tested my leutinizing hormone and one other thing(have to Check not home right now ) and those came back In range. Seems my testicle is the reason for my low T.Been on trt for 3 weeks now and really gel the pressure in my head building up which is why I would like to get BW as soon as possible. Both my PCP and endo said my thyroid numbers were fine but a friend who's a Dr. Said they maybe alil low and I should do some further labs just to make sure. My doc didn't really want to give me trt so I'm trying not to bombard him with lab requests and voice my treatment options. I got hi to prescribe trt and add estrogen to follow up labs. Once we work out the AI issue which I'm not sure how it's gonna go, and my trt is locked in I'm gonna go for more thyroid testing

IMHO, I would discuss this with your doctor. Might want to looking into a benzo like Xanax to relieve your anxiety. Beware that Xanax is addictive and short acting and should only be taken for a short period of time. You are getting some good information from other members here.

^ once my TRT is on point and esteogen is balanced I'll see if symptoms continue. As of right now I'm just noting symptoms and see how I feel once my hormones are where they are supposed to be

I hear you. I have NEVER before had any anxiety issues but after starting TRT, I was having frequent panic attacks (generally when E2 is LOW) and extreme claustrophobia. The idea of being on a cramped plane, doctors office, stuffy meetings, etc would make me highly irritable and wanting to get out fast. I think I'm starting to get my E2 better under control, but I'm nearly a year in to TRT. Again, the low E2 is what gets me.

    Good luck!!

Mach, I suffered from anxiety and panic attacks pre trt for years. I noticed you stopped drinking coffee, caffeine addiction can cause this also. It happened to me some years back. Went and had a cup of coffee and it went away. If you were drinking coffee daily and abruptly stopped, that may be a factor.

^ thanks about the coffee. I decided to cut out the pre workout and caffeine after I had these symptoms. Figured i didn't need to elevate my HR anymore. Past 2 days have been better but still feel off, gonna add affine back tomorrow . I'll report back after BW or if anything gets worse

In general, do you (all) experience anxiety with low estrogen, high estrogen, or both?

I've had it but not due to either one. I was able to conquer that some years back....

I used to have daily anxiety for 20 years. I've been on TRT for about 2 years now and haven't had an anxiety or a panic attack since. I can't even force myself to have one.

I got dialed in, monitor my own sensitive E2 (I feel better in the mid to upper 20's), keep a DETAILED log, work with my doc but keep myself educated, and make ALL adjustments slowly and deliberately.

My test levels are in the low 800's (which I feel are a little high, may drop my dosage down 10mg from 145mg/week IM), don't take an Ai, don't need it.

My E2 is in the mid to upper 20's, where I like it. I feel it's about ratio more than "getting your E2 in the 20's". At test levels in the low 800's, mid to upper 20's E2 on labcorp's sensitive E2 test feels the best. But that's only MY theory.

I've had high E2 and low E2 and still have not experienced any anxiety, only weird ED and libido issues. Try not to overthink it - easier said than done. IM me if you need or want help working through your anxiety, I've been there and understand how difficult it can be.

Those are signs of high E tho. You don't get bloated with low E. Low E your basically dried out. Your joints and even fingers nails and toenails dry out!

Past few days when I got out of the shower and drying off I noticed my nipples were very sensitive. Notjing major but they are noticeably sensitive . Chalking up any negative sides to high E as of right now. The BW can't come soon enough

Exactly! He thinks his E may be running high.I felt the same way when my E went into the higher thirties. I feel good now anyway, so we'll see where it lands on bloodwork in three weeks.

The anxiety may have been a side effect of having an elevated heart rate and what felt like very high BP . I could feel my heart pounding 24/7. Lowered to 50mg every 3.5 days and feel much better, still slightly elevated BP and heart but much much better. Anxiety gone also. My DOC prescribed me 200mg every week and not very good so I am figuring out dosages on my own. This is my second week doing 50mg e3.5d so I'll get bloods In a few weeks and talk to my doc about an AI once we see the numbers

200 mgs a week is a kind of high dosage to start out with also. Glad you're doing better.

I never took 200. When he said he was gonna prescribe 200mg/week I just said ok. Gonna keep the extra for a blast. If my doctor was knowledgable and was more open for discussion I would talk to him about dosage, shot frequency but he doesn't seem to concerned about BW, checking my levels etc. Not very knowledgable. At tins point I took the script and decided to run my own protocol. Talked him into BW testing free, total and E2 after 6 weeks. Howpfully he will be open to an AI if needed. Because I had extra I decided to start at 60mg E3d. When the heart pounding/anxiety/emotion kicked in I dropped to 50mg e3.5 days. Gonna run this for the next 3 weeks NO MATTER WHAT and see what the test says. I don't want to keep changing dosages before my first BW
