TRT just brings your test levels to a 'normal' range.. that 'high' we all speak of is when test levels are elevated beyond normal

Ventured out in icy Dallas today as I'm stranded in this city until tomorrow.. slid a little bit, but no accidents

This was my first time in the gym in three days. Let me tell you, it was all out war. I took myself through hell and back and it hurt so bad. Back pumps were at an all time high, and I must have looked like a madman with the intensity that was dished out. Didn't give a rats hind side though, that was my gym today.

    Back/tris

    Back:
    Seated close grip rows
    2 Feel setsx10
Working set x 8, RP+2 heavy.. first movement and my back feels like satan has his claws in me

Bent over one arm rows (flat bench)
    Feel set 80x10
Working 120x8, RP+4.... serious tunnel vision from standing up too fast.

    Hammer Strenght machine lat pulldown
    Feel set 225x10
Working 315x6, Drop to 225x4 slow and hard squeeze, RP+2..

    Standing straight bar pull downs
    60x4, drop 50x6

    Tris:
Laying DB skull crushers (I may have found my new favorite tricep excersise)
    Warm up 40sx10
Working 50sx8 I can go heavier
    65sx5, drop to 50sx5

    Ez curl skull crushers
    110x6, drop to 80x6

    Seated dip
225x10 Tris are completely spent.. unreal pain.
    275x6, drop to 225x6

    Rope pull downs
Feel x 10, working x 4, drop set to failure

20 mins cardio.. then ate $30 worth of sushi.. I suspect I may sleep well tonight.

DB skull crushers are awesome, some call it tape presses. I can load the bar up but I gotta go light on the db's for some reason, 40's are enough for me. But the EZ, load her up. I think im weaker in the outward grip, I may need to work on that as I always do my ez curl bar inside grip, I feel much more powerful from this stance

Lol, I have an addiction to the pseudo sushi they sell at the Publix grocery store here. Been considering going to one of the local sushi bars, but I'm afraid I'd have to sign over the title to my truck before I left.

Thanks AG.. I heard they're cancelling flights for tomorrow morning already. Mine is supposed to leave at 12:30p so I'm hoping it warms up a bit beforehand..

I'm with you on the sushi. .I could eat it everyday and often do. It's tastey and a great carb/protien mix of rice/fish. There is a sushi place right by one of my gyms at home (little farther away from the house but I will go there sometimes just to get some salmon rolls for a post workout snack).

I'm just now getting back into lifting after being on a hectic work schedule for the last several years. I lift @ home and have a few pieces of equipment and a decent assortment of plates and bars. Reading this thread has really helped me get my (almost) 50 yeear old butt back into lifting. My work schedule is currently 12 days on, 2 days off, but I will do my best to participate as much as work will allow.
There's no way I can keep up with you guys, so I'll be trying to beat myself...play with...dammit, you know what I mean. I will be my own competition.
Thanks again to Marcus, Kelkel, and everyone else that is posting. You guys have lots of good info/experience to share.
Below was my first leg day this past Thurs. This type of lifting really provided the type of stimulation my muscles need/my body craves.

    My routine consisted of:
    Leg press
2 feel sets of approx. 12-15 reps to warm up
1 work set 8 reps, drop set, drop set
    Hack squat
    2 feel sets
    1 work set, drop, drop
Power thrust(basically a hack squat performed facing the leg press)
    2 feel sets
    1 work set, drop, drop
    Calf raises
1 feel set toes pointed out
1 feel set toes pointed in
1 work set toes neutral (1second up, approx. 3 second negative each rep), drop, drop.
Honestly I couldn't do any lunges. LOL. I tried but my legs crapped out.

When I went on my current therapy it felt like I was 21yrs old again and I was flying high, my weight started to come back up I started to lose bf and I started to get some muscle back very quickly. I think is was due to feeling so low when you have low T so when you start to feel normal again its feels like your on top of the world, that's why I said its like doing a full circle. I did around 4 years on just trt only and I built a lot of my size back without cycling. I did some serious hard training trying to gain that size back and also I had a huge amount of food I had to intake daily which resulted in me not wanting to go on cycling. But I did and it was around once per year on those days. But Igif is right trt just gets you back to normal or a little higher than normal levels for someone at your age.

Off day today. Pct is finished. Motivation is high! I have begun reading about Marcus's priming protocol, something I have never done before. Gonna push hard for a few weeks de-load a bit and see how I feel and what happens as far as priming and future cycle.

OK I see what you mean. 80lb dumbbells are the heaviest they have. Oh well, got it done.
Destroyed Delts and Traps. I'm really starting to be able to turn on the mental state at will which is a huge help on the working sets.

HIT seems to be very effective with a training partner. But if you train alone, which I do, would you guys agree that hammer machines and dumbbells are best and safer? Thoughts on using HIT without a training partner

the smith machine can help. But its best to be under a real bar and have a spotter. I know that's not always the case, that's when I get under the smith press.

I use the smith for benching. It helps a lot with my sounder. I bring the bar all the way down and utilize rest pause. I also get a great stretch

My training partner isn't able to train with me on chest day and I use hammer strength and dumbbells. You can't do forced reps but you can go to complete failure safely and then use a combination of rest pause and drops effectively. Just make sure you're going to true failure and really push yourself and you'll get results.

Looks good AG! And on that age thing, it's only a number. A lot of us are "older" here and still kill it like we're kids. It keeps you young. Just train hard, eat healthy and rest appropriately. For me, I've found that rest is one of the most crucial parts in this as we age.

Without a spotter (which is often) I will do drop sets and RP, if possible.

Bigg I haven't had a training parter in probably 10-12 years and I train alone in my basement. It works just fine. Intensity comes from within.

I definitely agree. When you HAVE to get the weight, you get it. Flight or fight mentality. I've been doing DC training for years and haven't had any trouble. Y'all got some great stuff in here!

Just implement drops or RP when you don't have a partner, when you do add in those forced and negs

WHats your train of thought on this with doing light cardio between work out days to help recovery as well as get the heart rate up a little before stretching as well. is the cardio considered over training in your eyes?
