Yeah they like it warm, around 85+ but room temp is OK most of the time especially if you want them to be docile as noted. They need handled frequently or they get aggressive and always watch out for the tail.
I'm not a fan of spiders either but my daughter wanted a trantula and they are cheap/easy to care for. They are sort of different that normal spiders since they are big and I have even held a few. They are not exactly my 1st choice of a pet though. lol
Interesting. I had heard they could get aggressive and some may grow to 18ft. Are they clean animals or messy? I guess all animals are "messy" to a degree. Just curious about how much care is required etc.Originally Posted by lovbyts
Tarantula? Ya, no thanks. The only good spider is a squished one. YUCK.
18ft Iguana??? DAMN that would be big. I think you are talking about a Komodo dragon and they are dangerous/deadly. Actually illegal to own in the US. Yeah my daughter had one of those also not long ago but it was a baby.
I cant agree more. A good spider is a dead spider. I use to have a pretty bad phobia with spiders. I still dont like them at all but I'm not nearly as bad as I use to be.
